Simultaneously, her Tamil debut, Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003), preceded her role in the blockbuster Sivaji (2007), then the highest-grossing Tamil film. Saran's foray into English cinema began with The Other End of the Line (2008). Subsequent successes included Kanthaswamy (2009) and Pokkiri Raja (2010), establishing her as a leading South Indian actress. International acclaim followed her role in the English adaptation of Midnight's Children (2012). Further commercial successes include Pavitra (2013), Chandra (2013), and the critically lauded Manam (2014).
