Activists react as women stopped on way to Shani temple

New Delhi/Bengaluru, Jan 26 (ANI): Women activist Abha Singh on Tuesday condemned the move to stop women activists on their way to Maharashtra's Shani Shingnapur temple and said that they should be allowed to enter the temple premises and offer prayers as the Constitution of India grants equal rights to both gender. She stated that the temple's administration should adhere to the Indian Constitution and thus allow the women to enter the temple and offer their prayers. Another woman activist Pramila Nesargi echoing similar sentiments said it was strange that women do not get equal rights with respect to the other gender in a country where women goddesses are worshipped.
