An official release from the Gujarat government said that the chief secretary has received details of arrangements made to bring students back safely after contacting the Ministry of External Affairs and the Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

Last week, India asked its students in Bishkek to stay indoors following the incidents of violence. At present, about 17,000 Indian students are in the Kyrgyz Republic and most of them are in Bishkek.
