Kumari Selja, the veteran Congress leader and current Member of Parliament from Sirsa, is poised to be a significant figure in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections in 2024. Born on September 24, 1962, in Chandigarh, Selja hails from a prominent Dalit family in Haryana. She is the daughter of Chaudhary Dalbir Singh, a former Union Minister and a respected Congress leader. Educated at Panjab University, Chandigarh, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Selja has always been deeply connected to issues of social justice, women’s rights, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.
