Sectorally, media index gained 1.20 per cent, realty jumped 1.10 per cent, healthcare gained 0.98 per cent, auto gained 0.64 per cent, and pharma gained 0.61 per cent.

ITC share price: The stock climbed 1.79 per cent to Rs 238.50 apiece on the BSE while on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) it rose 1.73 per cent to Rs 238.50 per share. However, the scrip soon gave up on its early gains and slipped in the red slipping over 1 per cent to Rs 231.60 on BSE and Rs 231.55 on NSE.
