ABOUT irrfan khan

Irrfan Khan: A Legacy in Cinema Irrfan Khan (7 January 1967 - 29 April 2020), a Padma Shri recipient, was a globally acclaimed actor whose career spanned three decades. His journey, marked by initial struggles following his debut in Salaam Bombay! (1988), led to a breakthrough with Haasil (2003) and Maqbool (2004). Khan garnered critical acclaim for roles in The Namesake (2006), Life in a... Metro (2007), and Paan Singh Tomar (2011), the latter earning him the National Film Award for Best Actor. His versatility shone through roles in Hollywood productions like The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Life of Pi (2012), Jurassic World (2015), and Inferno (2016), alongside acclaimed performances in Bollywood films such as The Lunchbox (2013), Piku (2015), and Talvar (2015). Hindi Medium (2017) and its sequel, Angrezi Medium (2020), his final film, became major box office successes, earning him Filmfare Awards. His films collectively grossed over $3.643 billion worldwide. Khan's career was tragically cut short by neuroendocrine cancer in 2020. His indelible mark on cinema, bridging South Asian and Hollywood filmmaking, is commemorated through posthumous accolades, including a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and a mention in the Academy Awards' 'In Memoriam' segment. Khan's nuanced performances and charismatic screen presence established him as one of world cinema's finest actors.
