Bihar registered a record 122 corruption FIRs in 2025, nearly double the long-term average, with bribery cases forming 81% of the total, according to the Vigilance Investigation Bureau.

The Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) on Thursday announced a series of mass movements across Punjab and other parts of the country against what it termed as “anti-farmer” and “anti-worker” laws and policies of the central and Punjab governments. The decisions were taken at a meeting held at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh on Thursday. The announcement followed an inconclusive meeting between the Punjab chapter of KMM and the Punjab government officials at Punjab Bhawan on Wednesday, after which a follow-up meeting was convened at Gurdwara Amb Sahib, Mohali, under the chairmanship of Manjit Singh Rai, Sarwan Singh Pandher, coordinator of KMM, said.
