Diwakar is the MP who allegedly manhandled two staffers of IndiGo airlines in Visakhapatnam a couple of months ago. It all began late Thursday afternoon with Diwakar announcing in Anantapur that he would submit his resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker early next week since he "failed as an MP".

Indigo, in the month of June had imposed the ban on the TDP leader after he created a ruckus for being barred from boarding the domestic flight at the Vizag airport. The MP denied assaulting the airline staff, and had refused to apologise.

Telugu Desam Party MP J C Diwakar Reddy moved the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad seeking to declare the flying ban against him illegal. Earlier in June, domestic airlines imposed a flying ban on Reddy after he created a ruckus at the Vizag airport for being barred from boarding an Indigo flight.

Diwakar Reddy has left for Paris with his family. According to reports, this trip had been planned earlier.

While earlier in the day IndiGo had said it was investigating the incident, by evening, PTI reported that IndiGo had barred Reddy from its flights following his alleged unruly behaviour. No police complaint has been registered yet.

Angry at being denied boarding, Reddy reached across a counter of IndiGo Airlines and pushed a ticket printer which fell down and got damaged.

Reddy had allegedly vandalised the Air India office at Gannavaram airport in Vijayawada after he missed his flight.
