As demand grows to scrap BRTS on Nagar Road, PMC to carry out study

The Nagar Road BRTS was inaugurated in 2016. The 14-km-long route up to Wagholi has 13 BRT stations on the segregated 7.86-km section from Yerwada to Aaple Ghar, and 25 bus routes to serve various destinations in the corridor's vicinity.

Even as the civic body in Ahmedabad is facing with stiff opposition to its proposal to shift a statue of Swami Vivekanand at Ellisbridge because it comes in the way of the BRTS corridor,a similar row has broken out at Palanpur in Banaskantha district,where local BJP MLA Govind Prajapati wants the Viveknanda statue to be shifted from its current prominent location to some nearby place for easing traffic.

The roads between Gujarat College and Kristi Seva Sadan will remain shut from April 9 to September 30 for the construction of BRTS corridor on the Gujarat College-M J Library-Ellisbridge route,a city police notification said on Friday.
