To ensure that road space does not shrink for cars and other vehicles during creation of dedicated bus lanes along Bus Rapid Transit corridors,the Delhi government is now looking at expanding the road width in new projects. Construction of 13 new BRT corridors is being taken up by PWD and DIMTS.

The consultants for seven BRT corridors under the Public Works Department will be shortlisted by the end of November. With the cut-off date for submission of technical and financial bids ending on Monday,PWD officials said the process of hiring consultants for the seven corridors under them would be completed in two months.
