Throwing his weight behind Narsingh Yadav, Olympic medalist Yogeshwar Dutt took to microblogging site Twitter to lay his support. Yogeshwar said, on Tuesday, that the matter should be thoroughly investigated as he didn’t think Narsingh could indulge in doping activities.
Narsingh tested positive for performance enhancing drug, Metadienne, which according to the doctors affects muscle growth. Narsingh had claimed that he had never heard of the drug and said there was foul play involved. The wrestler alleged this was a shocking test result given he had always worked cleanly.
“I am myself shocked after this, it’s a conspiracy against me. CBI probe should be conducted,” said Narsingh. “I am doing so well, why would I even take banned steroids?”
Narsingh also stated that he had talked to the federation about the issue. Narsingh added, “In the mess anyone can mix anything in water or food and give it, I have written all this to the federation.”
“I should be sent to Rio Olympics and hope this will be sorted out soon. I have written to federation, want justice.”
Narsingh’s roommate, too, tested positive for the same drug at the Sports Authority of India camp which only added to the conspiracy theories.

Yogeshwar said that he trusted Narsingh enough to believe that he could never take performance enhancing drugs. Yogeshwar also stated that he was very disappointed with how the things have went wrong with Wrestling in the country. He demanded a probe into the matter.
