Baftas 2016: Alicia Vikander, Dree Hemingway among the worst dressed

And the award of the worst dressed fashionistas goes to these ladies right here. Here's a look at the biggest fashion blunders that hit the Bafta red carpet this year in London.

Worst: US Fashion model Dree Hemingway's Gucci number with embroidered flowers looked more like it was fashioned from a curtain. The orange neck-to-toe gown really clashed with the red carpet, and though she will walk away being remembered for the evening for the most eye-blinding gown, it's probably not how the great, great granddaughter of novelist Ernest Hemingway would like to be remembered. Remember those emellishments kids use to decorate books, Diary Of A Teenage Girl star Bel Powley's rainbow coloured dress needs to be cut up and used exactly for that, because on the red carpet, it causes more of a tizzy to the eyes. The Gucci outfit — paired with a rather stunning pair of silver platforms — seemed much too much for the occasion. (Sorce: AP)

Flight of Icarus this was not. Stephanie Powers arrived (flew in?) at the Royal Opera House in this Gothic rendition of a Grimm Brothers' dress — armed with a shoulder of black and green feathers, that tapers down to a blue fishtail dress. Hunger Games idol Sam Claflin's wife Laura Haddock went for a complete black ensemble with a blousey sheer top and an all-feather skirt. Teamed with a a pair of strappy black heels, it seems she was losing quite a few feathers on red carpet, and there is no way anyone could approve. The jury is out on Rooney Mara's beige dress with a hexagonal pattern. Though the cold shoulders are interesting, it may be going a bit too flat for the actress. Lace has been a big hit this award season, but this won't be taken as one of the shining examples. (Source: AP)

Australian actress Rebel Wilson's knee-length pencil skirt wasn't a hit at all. With the back of skirt continuing to the floor, the assymetrical cut was unflattering and is better left out of the red carpet. (Source: Reuters)

MTV's Poppy Jamie broke the black gothic theme of the evening with a nude fishtail dress by Jitrois Paris covered in an emerald green flock design. We wish we could say that the breakaway was for a good cause. Many Indians would probably look at this and be reminded of duvet covers and curtains that are available in abundance. (Source: Reuters)

TV presenter Angela Scanlon's lace and chiffon number had a very 1950s style, but the difficulty with such dresses is that either they look very cute, or very dated. Bond girl Olga Kurylenko looked beautiful in her delicately covered sheer dress by Ralph & Russo with a white lace pattern.
