And the award of the worst dressed fashionistas goes to these ladies right here. Here's a look at the biggest fashion blunders that hit the Bafta red carpet this year in London.
Worst: US Fashion model Dree Hemingway's Gucci number with embroidered flowers looked more like it was fashioned from a curtain. The orange neck-to-toe gown really clashed with the red carpet, and though she will walk away being remembered for the evening for the most eye-blinding gown, it's probably not how the great, great granddaughter of novelist Ernest Hemingway would like to be remembered. Remember those emellishments kids use to decorate books, Diary Of A Teenage Girl star Bel Powley's rainbow coloured dress needs to be cut up and used exactly for that, because on the red carpet, it causes more of a tizzy to the eyes. The Gucci outfit — paired with a rather stunning pair of silver platforms — seemed much too much for the occasion. (Sorce: AP)
Flight of Icarus this was not. Stephanie Powers arrived (flew in?) at the Royal Opera House in this Gothic rendition of a Grimm Brothers' dress — armed with a shoulder of black and green feathers, that tapers down to a blue fishtail dress. If we didn't know better, we'd have expected a wand somewhere out there. (Source: @theskinnydoll via Twitter)
Hunger Games idol Sam Claflin's wife Laura Haddock went for a complete black ensemble with a blousey sheer top and an all-feather skirt. Teamed with a a pair of strappy black heels, it seems she was losing quite a few feathers on red carpet, and there is no way anyone could approve. A far cry from the feathered skirt actress Cate Blanchett pulled off. (Source: Reuters)
The jury is out on Rooney Mara's beige dress with a hexagonal pattern. Though the cold shoulders are interesting, it may be going a bit too flat for the actress. Lace has been a big hit this award season, but this won't be taken as one of the shining examples. (Source: AP)
Australian actress Rebel Wilson's knee-length pencil skirt wasn't a hit at all. With the back of skirt continuing to the floor, the assymetrical cut was unflattering and is better left out of the red carpet. (Source: Reuters)
Gwendoline Christie's block colour plum dress with gold stripes on the side is unusual for sure, and the gold band hem at the waist did not flatter the Game of Thrones star at all. (Source: AP)
It seems Alicia Vikander great run at the red carpets this award season has had a hiccup at the Baftas. Donning a floor-length black leather Louis Vuitton gown with an encrusted chain mail pattern, Vikander's rather austere look was more midieval than chic. (Source: Reuters)
MTV's Poppy Jamie broke the black gothic theme of the evening with a nude fishtail dress by Jitrois Paris covered in an emerald green flock design. We wish we could say that the breakaway was for a good cause. Many Indians would probably look at this and be reminded of duvet covers and curtains that are available in abundance. (Source: Reuters)
TV presenter Angela Scanlon's lace and chiffon number had a very 1950s style, but the difficulty with such dresses is that either they look very cute, or very dated. In this case, we're sad to say it was the latter. (Source: Reuters) Loved this? Click on for the best dressed celebrities at the Baftas 2016.
Best supporting actress winner Kate Winslet went for a one-shoulder Antonio Dorani black dress with interesting cuts. Elegant in black is how we'd describe her. (Source: Reuters)
Actress Julianne Moore looked like a vision in her elegant monochrome Armani gown. She kept the look minimal by opting for a hot pink lipsticks, emerald earrings with her hair in a neat bun. (Source: Reuters)
This is how you do a feathered skirt (Laura Haddock, please take note!). Cate Blanchett wowed in an intricately embroidered Alexander McQueen gown, with an off-kilter cut that is just stunning. The body-hugging bodice and dramatic flare with the plumes is simply gorgeous. (Source: Reuters)
Australian-born actress Isla Fischer rocked the red carpet in a classic white Stella McCartney gown. The figure-hugging, balcony neck bodice gave the ensemble an oomph that many this evening would have killed for. (Source: Reuters)
50 Shades Of Grey actress Dakota Johnson oozed oomph in her red Dior gown and bold lips. Simple and elegant, with bold red is the way to dress it up this season. (Source: Reuters)
Bond girl Olga Kurylenko looked beautiful in her delicately covered sheer dress by Ralph & Russo with a white lace pattern.
Saoirse Ronan looks gorgeous in this pretty, intricate strapless Burberry number that she's paired with a beaded Chopard necklace and silver platform peep toes. This is one of those instances when more actually works. Good going, girl! (Source: AP)
Victoria's Secret model Lily Donaldson rocked the red carpet in this sheer blouse-style black gown. We're ready to set sail with this breezy number any day. (Source: Reuters)
Angela Bassett showed off her curves in this fuchsia high-neck gown, which did a splendid job of being fitted at all the right places, showing off off her sexy, toned arms. (Source: Reuters) Loved this? Click on for the list of worst dressed celebrities at the Baftas 2016.
