Okay, so looks like the rumours around Coldplay’s concert in India happening in November can be finally put to rest. According to a report in Mid-Day, Coldplay is actually going to play in Mumbai’s MMRDA Grounds (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) on November 19.
But guess what, all your dreams of attending the concert might come crashing down if you get to know about the prices of the ticket. Well, reportedly the tickets are going to cost you anything between Rs 25,000 and Rs 5 lakh. Yes, you read that right! Rs 25,000 is the starting range.
“Yes Coldplay is set to perform in Mumbai on November 19 at the MMRDA and the show is being put together by the Global Citizen Festival run by Chris Martin. The official tickets will go live on Book My Show on September 12 next week and prices start from Rs 25,000 to the highest category tickets at Rs 5 lakh a ticket,” Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.
Believe it or not, there are many who have been waiting to attend the concert but their monthly salary might be less than the lowest price of the ticket.
Apparently, it’s a charitable event and the prices are high for a noble cause, that is, to remove extreme poverty from the entire world by 2030. Well, a lot of Twitter users are saying that might become really poor themselves if they attend the concert.
It’s official! Coldplay is playing in India on November 19 and you might as well get a free ticket
Though none of it if official right now because no announcement has been made by Coldplay or the organisers but check out what people have to say about the prices.
Screw Coldplay.
For 25k I could get Baba Sehgal and Style Bhai to come perform in my bathroom.— Sorabh Pant (@hankypanty) September 9, 2016
I think Coldplay has done a great thing to price its tickets at 25k, it pushed the threshold, so now the local artists can charge more.
