Xiaomi smartphone users can rejoice as the company has revealed that its devices, including Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note will soon be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.The update is in its final stages and will be rolled out soon, said a report on Gizmochina.
Xiaomi devices presently run MIUI 7 ROM based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. This particular ROM was released in October this year. The update could bring a refreshing change for users who were looking out for a new version. A screenshot of the upcoming MIUI 5.12.24 based on Android Marshmallow was also put up on the site, showing that it will weigh 518MB.

According to Gizmochina, MIUI operations manager has revealed that the update is at a beta stage, with a developer version to follow after which it will be unveiled via OTA for users. He has also said that many models will directly be updated to Android 6.0 soon.
Xiaomi Mi 4, launched in 2014 and Mi Note released this year both had Android KitKat 4.4. The devices were updated to Android Lollipop only in October 2015. MIUI 7 has an extensive customization option and deploys colourful interface with better performance and battery saving options. It also has a data saver feature and it supports 10 Indian languages.
