Marital woes
Monday to Sunday,10.00 pm,Life OK
Cast:KaranVir Bohra,Sriti Jha
Rating:*
The lead players Karanvir Bohra as Viraj and Sriti Jha as the docile Janvi keep the proceedings strictly average. Much as you would like to sympathise with Janvi and wait for her to strike back, you are simply bored by her predicament
He loves his wife very much. He gets her bed tea, cares for her, calls her up a dozen times a day and ensures that she is safe in his house. He is Viraj,a rich guy,who is the bane of his wife,Janvis existence. While the two share an idyllic relationship for everyone,in the privacy of their home,he is a control freak who leaves no opportunity to physically and mentally abuse his newly-wed wife.
Janvis family gets fooled by Virajs soft-spoken demeanour and happily get their daughter married to him. He too presents his good side to her before marriage only to shatter her dreams later.
On the wedding night itself,he swallows a cockroach dipped in a glass of milk when the insect scares the daylights out of his young wife. Janvi is shocked by her husbands behaviour! However, its just the beginning of Janvis nightmare. Day after day,Viraj shows his eerie, strange side as he locks her in her house, which is far away in the hills away from civilisation. He suffers from obssessive compulsive disorder as he compels Janvi to keep their house spic and span. Worse,he installs cameras in his house to keep a watch on her even in his absence.
Apart from the newly-wed couple,Janvis family members are the only characters in the serial. Since Viraj has paid off Janvis fathers mounting debts, there is no reason for her parents to doubt their son-in-laws intentions, even when their daughter is sad.
We are glad that Saubhagyavati Bhava is just 20 minutes long because you cant watch more than that. Not that you are worried for Janvi, its just that the lead players Karanvr Bohra as Viraj and Sriti Jha as the docile Janvi keep the proceedings strictly average. Much as you would like to sympathise with Janvi and wait for her to strike back, you are simply bored by her predicament.
Produced by UTV,Saubhagyavati Bhava isnt engaging enough.
Verdict: Rent a DVD of Sleeping With The Enemy instead!
