Panchi Vora,whose last serial was Kayamath on Star Plus,has just entered Zee’s Keshav Pandit as Sarwar Ahuja’s love interest. She plays Sonu,an outgoing girl interested in fashion and dolling up. “I can’t see myself as Keshav’s love-interest because we are a complete contrast to each other. Even I am interested in knowing how this romance shapes up,” giggles Panchi. Interestingly,Panchi was studying law when Ekta Kapoor offered her Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi that was aired on MTV. “I related to my character Ananya because like her I was a small-town girl from Pune and it took a while for me to adjust in Mumbai,” says Panchi,who later bagged the lead role in Ekta’s Kayamath. Recounting her experience,Panchi says,“My brief from Ekta was to be myself. Like me,Prachi was shy and family-oriented. It was the easiest role to play.” Now,Sonu,Panchi is looking forward to wearing fashionable western outfits and yes,“learning something about law from Keshav.”

Ami Trivedi has grown up listening to the cassettes of Shahbuddin Rathod,so it’s a big thing for her to be a part of a serial Papad Pol Shahbuddin Rathod Ki Rangeen Duniya based on his works,that is to be aired on SAB. What’s more she’s bagged herself the main lead opposite Swapnil Joshi who plays Vinay Chand. As Kokila,Ami will be shown to be a sweet,feminine girl dreaming of marrying a guy who’s a combination of Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan,but ends up with the average-looking Vinay Chand. For Ami,who is currently playing a outspoken and brash tomboy Tulika in Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo,the idea of essaying a completely feminine character appealed as “it would be a good contrast.”

UTV Action ties up with Hollywood films
UTV Action is pepping up its action quotient by tying up with Hollywood action titles that release in India starting with Karate Kid followed by A-Team and Knight & Day. For Karate Kid,the channel is running a contest and for kids there will be exclusive co-branded labels and timetables at the cinemas across PVR. The channel has aggressive plans to become the one-stop hub for any Hollywood action content customised for the Indian audience. Get ready for a laugh-a-thon as Chatur of 3 Idiots steps into Disney Channel’s Kya Mast Hai Life. Omi Vaidya will make a guest appearance on the show later this month as he plays the role of an old and strange owner of a crooked mansion. It seems Omi is a Disney fan himself— earlier he made a surprise appearance on channel’s popular Big Bada Boom with the young hosts and shared some extremely funny moments with them as he also set the stage for his new avatar in Kya Mast Hai Life. We just hope he eventually gets to be more than just a funnyman with a funny accent.
