Art is in everything but for most, the best source of inspiration is nature. Nothing can beat nature, be it the blooms during spring, the guzzling streams during monsoon, the rustic landscape during autumn or the white kaleidoscope in winters. It is a constant source of wonder. For these two artists too, inspiration came calling in the form of oceans, waves to be precise. Meet Marsha Blaker and Paul DeSomma, a California-based couple who are creating stunning glass and ceramic artworks. One of the noteworthy ones and also their personal favourites from their collections is this series of glass sculptures representing the beauty of the ocean. The couple perfectly recreates the mighty blue waves in all their glory. Seriously, they are simply amazing! According to a statement to Bored Panda, the duo says, "Our immersion in the constantly changing and evolving ocean environment inspires us to develop and grow our glasswork. We love this work to capture the vitality and energy of the ocean." Looks like they are doing a pretty good job! Now, their backgrounds and ways of working might be different but it's for all to see that when they come together, they create magic. Blaker's work is influenced by the intricacies of the marine world and she likes to emphasise on the various colours and the textures in the environment. Meanwhile, DeSomma is a minimalist at heart who loves freehand solid glass sculpting and loves to play with the clarity and forms. We are already in love! Are you?
