Aparna Purohit, wife of the military intelligence office Lt Col Prasad Purohit, who is a prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, said on Thursday that there has been no change in the case because of the new government.

“The Supreme Court order on April 15 discharged them (accused) from Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). The court asked them to approach the special court for bail. The special court and special judge was to be constituted in a month’s period. But till now the special court and special judge is not in place,” said Aparna.

“I want the court to start hearing the bail application as early as possible. My husband is in prison for the past six years. We had moved the bail application in NIA court in Mumbai in mid-May. But there is no special judge, there is no further progress. Things continue to move very slowly. I have to look after my children, work and the court case. I am tired of this. I see no favours at all because of the new government,” she said.
