2 CRPF men killed as bomb goes off in Bihar Naxal belt

The condition of five of them is said to be critical.

Two CRPF personnel were killed and nine personnel of CRPF and Bihar Police were injured as a can bomb kept for defusal, exploded at Dhibra under Aurangabad on Monday.

The incident took place at around 1.15 pm when the combined team of CRPF and Bihar Police had detected a can bomb, allegedly planted by Maoists between Banua Mod and Baranda village under Dhibra police station, and were waiting for the bomb defusal squad.

The bomb exploded because of the heat, killing CRPF constables Ajay Kumar and T Panna Rao and inuring seven other CRPF personnel and Dhibra police station incharge Amar Kumar Choudhary.

The condition of five of them is said to be critical. Aurangabad will go to polls on 10 April in Bihar’s first of six-phase poll.
