The Prasar Bharati board Monday decided to invite producers for the third time to bid for programming for prime time slots on Doordarshan National. Under the policy, external producers will telecast and market shows on Doordarshan.
Jawahar Sircar, the CEO of Prasar Bharati, said that the board “unanimously resolved to execute the Serial Slot Sale Policy”.
Currently Doordarshan buys shows from private producers and then earns revenue through selling ad-space.
Under the new slot slate policy, which was announced in May, it has invited producers to bid for slots and will allow them to share the advertising revenue.
