A government teacher was suspended on Monday for allegedly stopping students from chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ during the morning assembly in Jhalawar.
Nisaar Mohammad, the Physical Education teacher at the Budhwara Secondary School in Manoharthana block, was removed from his post and kept in Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) after village residents led by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad complained against him to the Sub-Divisional Officer.
“We received a complaint from the residents on Saturday that the teacher had stopped children from saying Bharat Mata ki jai and Vande Mataram during the school assembly. So we removed him and he is now APO,” District Education Officer Surendra Singh Gaur told The Indian Express.
“We will investigate the complaint and if found guilty, we will take action against him,” he added.
