Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project ‘Make in India’, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Sunday said the priority should be on ‘Making India’. ‘Make in India’ is an initiative by Modi to promote manufacturing in India.

“If we concentrate on providing proper infrastructure, rendering honest services and ensuring a conducive atmosphere for making India, then we wouldn’t have to give a call for Make in India. If we can ensure this, corporates would line up to make India a strong and vibrant nation,” said the chief minister.

He made the statement while paying tribute to veteran freedom fighter Vithalbhai Jhaverbhai Patel and revolutionary Shaheed Bhagat Singh in the Delhi Assembly.

“First invest in five things — education, health, water, safety, justice and infrastructure. Whole world will queue up at India’s doors to make in India,” he tweeted.

While paying tribute to the freedom fighters, Kejriwal recalled the work done by his government. “We fulfilled the promise to ensure no hike in electricity tariff and free water up to 20,000 litres a month to every household. We also increased the budget for education and health budget,” said Kejriwal. He also inaugurated an exhibition of rare photographs of revolutionaries of the Indian freedom struggle.
