Demonetisation: Arvind Kejriwal is the new rage on social media; 48,02,000 views of his speech

Kejriwal has strongly opposed demonetisation citing problems faced by the common man in accessing their own bank accounts and losing their hard-earned savings.

A DAY after AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal went live on Facebook and slammed the Union government’s demonetisation move, the party claimed that there has been a 640 per cent increase in the number of followers Kejriwal and the party have on social media platforms.

Confirming, AAP’s social media team released the figures on Sunday and claimed that a large section of the electorate concurred with Kejriwal in opposing demonetisation” “Fifty lakh people have so far viewed Arvind Kejriwal’s Assembly speech on demonetisation on social media platforms. The AAP Facebook Page saw organic growth of about 640 percent in the week of demonetisation and Arvind Kejriwal’s response to it. Nearly half a crore viewers have so far on social media platforms watched the November 15 speech of Kejriwal in the Delhi Assembly,” an official statement read.

Kejriwal’s speech has recorded 48,02,000 views and 1,72,128 shares on party’s Facebook pages. The AAP national Facebook page recorded 27,000,00 views on the Assembly speech video. AAP Delhi page recorded 10,50,000 views on speech video.

“These statistics highlight the public response against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anti-people decision of demonetisation,” an AAP official said.

Kejriwal has strongly opposed demonetisation citing problems faced by the common man in accessing their own bank accounts and losing their hard-earned savings. Kejriwal along with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also held a rally for traders, farmers and labourers at Azadpur Mandi addressing their concerns.
