Be it nature or mankind, the strength to make anything happen is God gifted and The Anupam Kher Show, Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai is all about exploiting that strength to the optimum. Returning to Indian television after 14 years, Anupam Kher, inspires the audience with his new talk show. The actor has already inspired his audiences with his philosophy in life, which is, Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai, through his autobiographical play of the same title. He calls this show a symbol of optimism featuring guests who have reached the pinnacle of success through hard work and grit. The uniqueness of the show is the nature of questions posed to the guests that touch upon the little known aspects that guests may otherwise shy away from discussing.
The first episode revealed the eccentric side of Bollywood’s Baadshah, Shah Rukh Khan, as he candidly recalled his early days, his association with the National School of Drama, and the moments spent as Anupam Kher’s co-star, among other things. Along with the brighter side, King Khan also revealed a few dimmer realities and incidents of his life, such as the death of his parents. While it may have been tough to talk about such personal experiences and feelings on national television, Shah Rukh looked calm and at ease throughout. The comfort level could also be attributed to the great rapport between the guest and the host.
The show aims to highlight the ‘anything can happen’ phenomena in the lives of great people. While it did emphasise on the Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai phenomena, time and again, the conversation sometimes went adrift and felt out of place. For instance, the tale of SRK’s and Gauri’s romance was not really required to accentuate the philosophy.
Nevertheless, the vignettes were extremely entertaining and even helped in breaking the monotony of the otherwise intense conversation. While Farooque Shaikh, Simi Garewal and Karan Johar are some of the talk show hosts etched in the memories of the Indian audience, Anupam Kher’s unconventional style and bold questions are something to watch out for. In all, the show reflects an intense positivity and is perfectly peppered with humour.

Verdict: An inspiring way to spend a Sunday evening.
