Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrence-directed Tamil horror-comedy “Muni 3” has been rechristened “Kanchana 2”.
The film is a sequel to 2011 Tamil blockbuster “Kanchana” and the third part in the “Muni” franchise.
“My producers and I felt ‘Kanchana 2’ goes with the prequel and will instantly connect with the audience. We earlier titled it ‘Muni 3’ because it’s the third film in the franchise,” Lawrence told IANS.
The film has been in the making for a while.
“Kanchana 2”, which is slated for April release, stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead.
Kovai Sarala and Devadarshini are also part of the film, which will be distributed by Thenandal Films.
