Saif vows to honour father’s legacy

The 41-year-old actor was anointed the tenth Nawab of Pataudi at a ceremony at his ancestral palace.

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan,who was anointed the new Nawab of Pataudi,has said that even though princely titles do not exist anymore,family values and traditions do.

He said he would do his best to honour his late father’s memory. Saif succeeded Mansoor Ali Khan as the new Nawab.

“I am overwhelmed with the kindness and simplicity the village heads have shown me and my family and the respect to my late father..this is a huge responsibility for me…to take my father’s legacy forward in whatever way I can,” Saif said in a statement.

“Princely titles no longer exist…but family values and tradition do..I shall be conscious of this always and do the best I can for Pataudi,” he said.

The 41-year-old actor was anointed the tenth Nawab of Pataudi at a ceremony at his ancestral palace on October 31,over a month after his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away.
