Pink box office collection day 1: Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu-starrer earns Rs. 4.32 crore on the opening day.

Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu-starrer was declared a winner by the A-listers of the industry who got to see the film much before the release. It also received rave reviews from the critics alike. But as Pink hit the theatres on Friday (September 16), it started slow but picked pace as the day developed.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the details of the film’s performance at the box office. He wrote, “#Pink dull in morning/noon shows, but reports terrific. Biz will multiply.” Taran also informed about Pink’s Middle East collections. “#Pink takes a VERY GOOD start in Middle East… Collects approx AED 400,000 [₹ 72.83 lacs] on Thu [64 screens]… Opens in Kuwait next week,” he tweeted.
The film saw about 25 percent occupancy in the morning, which improved during the day. The movie collected Rs. 4.32 crore on the first day of its release at the box office. Taran Adarsh believes that the movie’s collections will escalate due to strong word of mouth. He shared the Pink movie box office numbers on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “#Pink Fri ₹ 4.32 cr. India biz… Strong word of mouth should ensure escalation in biz on Sat and Sun.”
Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, best known for his Bengali dramas Aparajita Tumi, Antaheen and Anuranan, has made his Hindi directorial debut with the movie, which besides Big B, stars Taapsee, Kriti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi.
The National Award-winning actor Amitabh Bachchan is seen playing a lawyer in Pink, which is about three young women fighting an apathetic society. Talking about the film and his role in the film, Big B earlier said that he agreed to the movie within minutes as he found the concept of courtroom thriller very appealing.
