President of FWICE, Kamlesh Pandey
The FWICE (Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees) called off their indefinite strike, at the stroke of midnight, after receiving assurances from producers about meeting the specific demands of workers as set out in the MOU.
Confirming the same to Indianexpress.com, Kamlesh Pandey, President of FWICE said, “The producers body has given everything in writing to us thereby agreeing to satisfy our fundamental demands as mentioned in the MOU.
The broadcasters too will be closely involved henceforth and will act as the watchdog facilitating and mediating and doing everything else necessary to get the MOU signed. IMPAA will sign the MOU on Monday and the TV and Film Producer’s guild too will sign the same soon as soon their head Mukesh Bhatt returns to Mumbai on October 19. On behalf of the federation, I would like to thank the producers for understanding and agreeing to our requests. We are happy that the matter has been resolved amicably.”
The indefinite strike which started on Saturday lasted only for a day. The one-day strike brought to halt shooting of many big-ticket Bollywood films like ‘Dilwale’, ‘Dangal’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ among others.
