Dishoom day 4 box office collection: Varun Dhawan, John Abraham movie earns Rs 71.91 cr worldwide

Dishoom box office collections at the box office are a prestigious Rs 71.91 crore worldwide. The film starring Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez got mixed reviews.

The Dhawan brothers — Varun and Rohit — have delivered a Dishoom performance at the box office. As Dishoom — starring Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez, and directed by Rohit Dhawan — completes day 4, the film has got Rs 71.91 crore gross box office collection.

The film’s India box office collection stand at Rs 58.57 crore gross and Rs 42.17 crore nett. The buddy comedy earned Rs 11.05 crore on Friday, Rs 12.02 crore on Saturday and Rs 14.25 crore on Sunday. With its Monday collections of Rs 4.85 crore, the total collections made Dishoom the sixth biggest opener of the month. The movie has earned Rs 8.46 crore in rest of the world.

Dishoom has been made at a cost of approximately Rs 70 crore with about Rs 15 crore spent on promotions. The film’s team will be celebrating its success today (August 3).

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday, “#Dishoom Fri 11.05 cr, Sat 12.02 cr, Sun 14.25 cr. Total: ₹ 37.32 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT! #Dishoom biz was affected due to heavy rains in various parts of the country [torrential rains in Mumbai]. Else, biz would’ve been higher.”

The films which come ahead of Dishoom in BO rankings are Sultan (Rs 180.36 crore), Housefull 3 (Rs 53.31 crore), Fan (Rs 52.35 crore), Airlift (Rs 44.3 crore) and Baaghi (Rs 38.58 crore). The Rohit Dhawan directorial managed to do better than Udta Punjab.

Dishoom got mixed reviews but that didn’t stop audiences from flocking to the theatres. What worked for Dishoom was the fact that there has been no major Bollywood release since Salman Khan’s Sultan came out on July 6. The film released on 3,000 screens in India.
