Deepika Padukone doesn’t agree with Shah Rukh Khan calling Bajirao Mastani niche
When we asked Deepika Padukone if she agreed with SRK's statement, the Chennai Express actress said, "I wouldn't call Bajirao Mastani niche.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose latest release Dilwale is clashing with Deepika Padukone’s magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’, had recently said audience will take time out to watch both films and that Bajirao Mastani was ‘niche’ and historical in its genre.
When we asked Deepika Padukone if she agreed with SRK’s statement, the Chennai Express actress said, “I wouldn’t call Bajirao Mastani niche. One of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s strength is that in a film like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ or a film like ‘Devdas’ or ‘Ram Leela’ or ‘Black’, he has his way of story telling but still makes it globally appealing. I don’t know what he(SRK) meant when he said niche but what I can say is both are very different films. I have worked with both directors (Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Leela Bhansali) and they have different things to offer. You can’t compare the two.” (Shah Rukh Khan: Bajirao Mastani is niche and historical in genre)
Elaborating on how it would be a bonanza for film goers, Deepika Padukone said, “I agree that audiences will take time out to watch both films. Even I would watch both films as audience. While on one hand people are trying to create controversy around two films releasing on the same day, I am someone who looks at it the other way in the sense that I get to watch two films that are so unique.”
Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani are all set to release on December 18.
