Abhishek Bachchan walks out of JP Dutta’s Paltan, makers will soon announce the actor who will replace him
After speculations doing rounds on Abhishek Bachchan walking out of the JP Dutta's film, Paltan, the producer confirmed that they were true by issuing a statement on it. Nidhi Dutta, the producer of JP films, has announced that the actor is no longer a part of the project.

Not a long time back, veteran filmmaker JP Dutta announced and revealed the first look of his upcoming directorial, ‘Paltan’. The war drama, which is a multi-starrer, also starred Abhishek Bachchan. However, there were rumours doing rounds that the actor has walked out of the project at the very last moment. Confirming the same, Nidhi Dutta, producer of JP films, said, “Abhishek Bachchan is no longer part of Paltan for personal reasons best known to him. It has come as a shock to us as this happened less than 24 hours before our unit left to shoot in Ladakh.”
She continued, “But we also believe that especially in the movies we make it’s the soldiers sitting up there that choose who will play them and recreate their lives on screen. Nevertheless we wish him luck with his future endeavors. We are already in Ladakh filming with our entire cast and crew and Army personnel. We will announce the actor who is replacing Abhishek in the film soon.”
The filmmaker, who launched Abhishek in his debut film Refugee, has also worked with him in films like LOC Kargil and Umrao Jaan.
Earlier, talking about the project, the award-winning director quipped, ““It’s time to tell a new story, to tell another part of history of our country and salute more real life heroes! I present ‘PALTAN’. A film and a subject very close to my heart and I’m extremely excited about it.”
Produced by JP Films and directed by Dutta, the film is scheduled for a summer 2018 release.
