Kiran Rao says Aamir Khan will lose weight systematically to play his youth in ‘Dangal’
Aamir Khan, who has piled on more than 90 kilos for his role as an ageing wrestler in Dangal, will now lose the extra flab to look young for a particular section in the film.

Aamir Khan is a true perfectionist. The actor, who has piled on more than 90 kilos for his role as an ageing wrestler in Dangal, will now lose the extra flab to look young for a particular section in the film.
Talking about the same, Aamir’s director wife Kiran Rao told The Indian Express.com, “It’s a film about a wrestler and the journey of his character. There is a section in the film in which he has to play his younger self because mostly in the film he is playing an older man. So, he is has to play a wrestler in his youth, the time when he was at his peak. So, for that he will lose weight. It is going to take a lot of work and we will start working on that from January.”
When asked about any concerns regarding losing weight rapidly, Kiran said, “It will be done in a systematic way. We have kept enough time and it will be done scientifically with the help of nutritionists and physical experts. Of course he needs to do it within the period when he shoots it but we have kept it for the end because it is not so much work.”
