Aamir Khan’s suggestions helped Dangal: Nitesh Tiwari

Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari says superstar Aamir Khan gave his opinion on certain aspects of the movie.

Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari says superstar Aamir Khan gave his opinion on certain aspects of the movie, but never insisted his suggestions must be followed. “Aamir is a very sorted actor and he knows where he should draw the line. He is a superstar. Whenever he feels he should give an opinion, he will give that opinion, but will never insist you. He gives a lot of respect to his writers and directors. I must say many a times his suggestions has really helped the film.”

Tiwari said Aamir was his first choice for Dangal. “I was very clear that I wanted to make this film with Aamir Khan and I am glad the producers were also happy with my choice. They then tried to fix an interview with him,” he said.

In a recent conversation with the media, Aamir has said, “Essentially, it is the director who is the creative head of a film. The final authority on all decisions lies with the director. That is how it should be. And then other team members can give their creative inputs. There was never a moment in Dangal where I had to overrule or had a strong disagreement with Nitesh.”

Aamir’s physical transformation for Dangal has been in talks ever since the film was announced and recently, when the actor shared a short video of making of Dangal, he left the audience in shock.

Meanwhile, the actor and his Dangal girls – Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, are prepping up for the celebrity gossip show, Koffee With Karan, hosted by the ace director Karan Johar. Dangal will release on December 23.
