There was panic for some time as four vehicles in the parking of a building in DSK Vishwa in Wadgaon Dhayari caught fire in the wee hours of Tuesday. The exact cause behind the fire was not known till reports last came in. The fire brigade, however, suspect that short circuit could have led to the incident.

According to the fire brigade, four vehicles including scooters and motorcycles in the parking lot of Building F in Bhaskara Society in DSK Vishwas caught fire at around 2.15 am. Some residents noticed the fire and smoke. One of them informed the fire brigade at around 2.20 am.
A team of fire brigade officials reached the spot and extinguished the flames within 10 minutes. Fire brigade officials said that four vehicles were fully burnt, while another six vehicles were partially damaged.
Meanwhile, garbage collected in Swargate Police Line caught fire at around 11 am. The fire gutted a car and a two-wheeler parked nearby. In yet another incident, a mattress manufacturing unit in Rahul Park Society near Kinara Hotel in Kothrud caught fire on Tuesday morning. Firemen reached the spot and asked residents to vacate their homes as a precautionary measure. Fire officer Gajanan Pathrudkar said that short circuit caused the fire.
