6,000 appear for interviews at Pimple Saudagar job fair

The organisers said the job fair was an initiative by MLA Laxman Jagtap and BJP leaders like Sarang Kamtekar.

Over 6,000 youths appeared for interviews at a job fair jointly organised by the Prathibha Mahila Prathishthan and the Jijau Prathishthan in Pimple Saudagar on Wednesday. The event saw 1,113 job offers being issued, with 3,857 candidates clearing the primary round for further interviews.

29 companies participated in the fair and the district employment office was also part of the fair. Companies like SKF, Thermax SBI, Force Motors etc were also among those who participated.

The fair saw the companies organising written interviews in the preliminary levels, and selected candidates were promoted to the next level. Candidates who cleared the first few rounds have been asked to come for the next levels.

The district employment and self employment officer Uday Kulkarni had participated as a co-organiser in the fair .

The organisers said the job fair was an initiative by MLA Laxman Jagtap and BJP leaders like Sarang Kamtekar.

“There is no politics in this. There is genuine concern to provide jobs to employed youths. Every youth who visited the job fair will be provided with a job,” said Kamtekar.

He said the need to hold the job fair was felt as youngsters in Pimpri-Chinchwad were complaining about not getting jobs despite having necessary skill and qualification.
