Tihar jail warden arrested for smuggling drugs

A warden of Tihar Jail has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs inside the prison premises. A Delhi court has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days. The accused, identified as Sandeep, was found in the possession of marijuana and hashish while undergoing compulsory frisking at central jail no. 4, said a police officer.

“During the frisking, the officials of Tamil Nadu Special Police deployed in Tihar found 30 gram of marijuana and 150 gram of Hashish in his possession,” said the officer. The matter was reported to the police and Sandeep was arrested under sections of the NDPS Act.
