Veteran photographer Pranlal Patel dies

Veteran photographer Pranlal Patel died on Saturday due to old age related problems in Ahmedabad, family sources said.

He was 105. Patel was one of the pioneer photographers in the state, who had taken pictures during the pre-independence, post-independence and post-liberalisation eras.

He is remembered for his photographs of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel. He was revered as an icon among the photographers in Gujarat.

Patel was also associated with media industry. Chief Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Patel saying that his contribution in the field of photography will be everlasting.
