T20 World Cup Best Bowling Average

South Africa speedster Anrich Nortje holds the best bowling average across nine T20 World Cup editions. Nortje, who appeared in the tournament for the first time during the 2021 edition, has sent down over 40 overs while conceding only 8.54 runs per wicket. During South Africa's first match of the 2024 T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka, Nortje recorded the best four-over spell by a pacer in the tournament, recording figures of 4-0-7-4.

Among bowlers who have sent down at least 20 overs in the tournament, England's Sam Curran (11.38), Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga (11.42) and former South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir (11.88) follow Nortje. Former Australia seamer Stuart Clark (12.00) rounds up the top five.
