The ruling Mahayuti has secured a majority in the municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra, with 68 out of 69 seats won unopposed. The BJP emerged as the biggest gainer, with 44 candidates elected unopposed. Despite efforts to quell dissent, some rebels from the ruling parties have decided to contest in certain wards.
