It’s an occupational hazard that television actress Vibha Chibber can’t escape. For someone who has to play an overbearing,dominating and tyrant mother-in-law on Zee’s Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein,wrapping up in the whole nine yards is proving to be a tiring and testing task. Says a harried Chibber,“Sari! Oh my god! It’s such a bothersome garment.” Ironically,the veteran actress who is preferred and admired in saris by her fans,being Mrs Bindeshwari Kaushik on the show is a tough job. “Why can’t people have mothers or mother-in-laws who wear nice salwar suits? I simply hate wearing a sari for 12-14 hours a day. I hold the elegant sari in high regard but don’t like it draped around me. I am more of a casual dresser and prefer wearing comfortable clothes,like a simple salwar-kameez or a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. It’s the biggest irony of my life that my fans and my audiences always like me only in saris,” she voices her concern,and hopes that some day,a production house will come up with a show where she can play a “cool mommy”.
