Rupee slips to 45.11 against dollar

The rupee eased to 45.11 a dollar in early trade on capital outflows by foreign funds.

The Indian rupee eased by 3 paise to 45.11 a dollar in early trade on capital outflows by foreign funds from equities and the US currency’s gain overseas.

The domestic currency had closed higher by 3 paise at 45.08/09 a dollar in the previous session.

Forex dealers said apart from capital outflows by funds,demand for the US currency and its strength against other currencies also weighed on the rupee sentiment.

Meanwhile,the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index,Sensex,fell by 61.54 points,or 0.35 per cent to 17,204.33 points in the opening trade on Friday.
