Reports of US diplomats denied entry to Peshawar inaccurate: State Dept

US is working with the Pakistan to ensure that its diplomats continue to be free to travel.

Reports that US diplomats have been stopped from entering Peshawar this week because they lacked proper travel documents are inaccurate, the US State Department has said.

“Media reports about US diplomats being stopped on their way into Peshawar this week are untrue,” the State Department said responding to questions about news items appearing in local Pakistani press in this regard.

“The source of these inaccurate reports appears to be the reprint of a story that ran on July 18. No such incidents have occurred this week,” the statement said.
