External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will be visiting Dhaka on February 9 to meet the top leadership of the newly elected Bangladesh Government. This will be the first political visit by an Indian leader after Sheikh Hasina swept to power in the neighbouring country with an overwhelming majority.
Sources said counter-terrorism and dealing with insurgent groups would top the agenda during the visit.
There is a very positive agenda for re-building the relationship. Counter-terror cooperation and expanding security dialogue will be on top of the agenda, they said.
Its an important visit. We have a moment of hope, the sources added.
