Karan Johar is nervous as he gears up for negative role in Bombay Velvet

Karan would be essaying a full-fledged character as a rich businessman with shades of grey.

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar,who is all set for his debut negative role in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film Bombay Velvet,is nervous to face the camera once again.

The Kuch Kuch Hota Hain director has reached Colombo,along with the film’s lead actor Ranbir Kapoor.

Karan Johar had earlier done small roles in films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge,Salaam -e-Ishq,Luck By Chance to name a few.

However this time Karan would be essaying a full-fledged character. He will be playing a rich businessman with shades of grey,who will be a crucial factor in the life of Ranbir Kapoor’s on-screen character.

Karan Johar has reportedly charged a mere Rs 11 from his Bombay Talkies co-director.

Anurag Kashyap also revealed that Karan has lost nearly 10 kilos for the role.

Meanwhile the film fraternity is sending Karan ‘tweets’ of encouragement.

Actor Tusshar Kapoor also tweeted: @karanjohar All the best,still remember my 1st day,but your an expert at facing the camera!

The film also features Anushka Sharma in the lead role.

Ranbir and Anushka will play lovers whose lives intermingle with the evolution of the city of Bombay,through the 50s to early 70s.

The first film of a trilogy,as planned by Anurag Kashyap will release worldwide on December 2014.
