We would like to know about your experience in detail? Where were you earlier?

I have over 25 years experience in the Indian IT sector,with a strong grounding in all aspects of sales,business development,product development and customer service.

I began my career from as a freelance trainer for COBOL. This was followed by a start-up by the name International Information Systems that was co founded by me along with two friends. Three years later we started Nucleus Software and for last 22 years I have been part of this exciting journey.

Nucleus is one of the few successful product companies from India. What makes for this success from a technology stand point?

Continued R&D effort and investment enables Nucleus to maintain a technology edge in rapidly evolving market and innovate in introducing new products and solutions.

We recently launched a new version of its Cash Management software product,CASHWillTM. The latest CASHWillTM is based on J2EE framework – n tier architecture.

The newer more flexible and scalable version of CASHWillTM has been enhanced manifolds to provide cutting edge technology to Nucleus’ clients in transaction banking domain. CASHWillTM J2EE version will enhance banks and financial institutions ability to differentiate themselves through offering their clients a single platform for processing their cash management and trade transactions.

Tell us about FinnOne. Did you anticipate the success it eventually garnered?

Nucleus Softwares flagship product FinnOne provides banks and financial institutions worldwide,a competitive edge as it makes loan management far more transparent and cost effective by providing immediate credit history and ratings. At this point the industry urgently needs to focus on technologically advanced,functionally enhanced and cost effective solutions to pre-empt,manage and avert financial crisis.

FinnOne is a software product solution that is designed to provide operational support,risk management and decision making support to banks and financial services companies.

Help us understand how FinnOne is able to adapt itself to multiple banking standards across the world?

FinnOne is a robust product with flexible and configurable functional architecture to support multiple banking standards across the world. Its modular design ensures quick mapping to different banks processes as required under various banking standards.

FinnOne product is universal lending solution which caters to multiple business lines,the components are configurable and rule driven which helps various banks to map their business easily. The time to market for launch of new products by banks using FinnOne is reduced because of its modular design.

Where do you see Nucleus Software in the todays competitive market?What makes Nucleus Software focused on the creation of intellectual property rights (IPR)?

Every corporate puts a lot of time and efforts to develop its Intellectual Property and the industries which rely on IP protections are estimated to produce around 70 percent more value per added employee than non-IP industries. It is eventually an important asset for companies.

Nucleus Software is very strong on IPR and generates 70% revenue from the IPR led business and services. With the focus on the banking and financial services,the company provides solutions in the lending/ loan segment as well as cash management. Under this segment,it has the FinnOne Suite that provides end-to-end operational excellence to banks and financial institutions in the lending domain.

What kind of new solutions are in the pipeline for development?

We are currently working on a new version of our flagship product,FinnOne and will be launching the new technological breakthrough version within a couple of months.

Where are the R&D centers?

Nucleus’ R&D centers are in India – Noida,Chennai & Pune and Singapore.

What is the revenue that you generate from Japan and from the other part of the geographies?

Though the market is not doing very well,Japan is our main market. 50% of our revenues come from Japan. We generate over 15% of the revenue from South East Asia and over 10% comes from India and Middle East each. Europe and Africa constitute about 5% each,while US constitutes for less than 1% of our revenue.
