A day after three young men were feared drowned in the Gorai creek, the police are yet to find their bodies. The three missing brothers Mangesh,Parshuram and Vijay Pagi had gone on their first fishing expedition and none of them knew how to swim.
They are feared dead. A group of 12 young men on Sunday went to Gorai creek for fishing. However, due to the bad weather their boat capsized and all the boys fell into the sea. The Fire Brigade with the help of the locals managed to save only 9 of them.
While the police claimed that search is on for the missing brothers, their family and relatives say that police are doing little to find the bodies.
Why have they not sent divers? At least someone could accompany us in our search for the bodies, said a family friend.
I dont think that we have left any stone unturned in looking for these bodies, said Police Inspector R Chaudhary of the Gorai police. Senior official have visited the spot and we also called the Fire Brigade to help us find the body. We have people looking for them in boats and have also enlisted local help, added Chaudhary.
My brothers were excited about the picnic, said Arun Pagi. It was their first time in the sea, he added. Vijay Pagis father,Dewal, said,My son had just taken a break from his office and had agreed for this outing.
The family and friends have been searching the nearby coastal areas for the bodies. We have gone to Marve,Gorai,Aksa and Danapani, said a neighbour of Pagis.
When Newsline visited the residences of two of the survivors, their family said that all 9 were out to help find the bodies.
