Essar Oil reports Q3 net profit of Rs 273 cr

Essar Oil reported a net profit of Rs 273 cr for the quarter ended Dec 31,as against a net loss of Rs 226 cr in the year ago period.

Essar Oil Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 273 crore for the quarter ended December 31,2010 as against a net loss of Rs 226 crore in the year ago period.

Net sales was up 23 per cent to Rs 12,495 crore in the October-December quarter,the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

During April-December,the company reported a net profit of Rs 333 crore as opposed to a loss of Rs 150 crore in the first nine months of previous fiscal.

Net sales was up 28.7 per cent to Rs 34,341 crore.
