China to recruit one lakh graduates

China is planning to recruit 100,000 graduates to work in grassroots units.

China is planning to recruit 100,000 graduates to work in grassroots units for periods of two to three years by 2015 to boost employment opportunities and development in rural areas,officials said.

The effort is part of the new round of a national campaign to support education,agriculture,medical care and poverty alleviation in China’s rural and less-developed regions,an official statement here said.

About 20,000 graduates will be recruited each year,the statement issued after a special working conference yesterday said.

The recruitment will take place after graduates submit voluntary applications and undergo public selection procedures.

The statement urged all relevant authorities to adopt favourable policies that would provide the graduates in the program with better social security and assistance in finding post-service employment.

It also stipulated that the government and public institutions should reserve a certain number of vacancies for graduates after their participation in the program.
