Launching Congress’ poll campaign in Madhya Pradesh,Rahul Gandhi on Thursday charged the BJP government in the state has opened “a University of corruption” and promised to change things by ushering in rule of the youth.

Addressing meetings here and at Shahdol,the Congress Vice President attacked the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government on issues of graft and mal-administration,remarking “you won’t get admission in school or university because in MP,BJP has opened the University of corruption.”

He alleged BJP was neglecting development at a time when youth in the state want employment.
“BJP claims to have signed MOUs worth Rs one lakh crore but none of these MOUs has seen the light of the day. It is BJP’s habit to sign MOUs and do nothing. Instead,they are shutting the factories that exist,” he said.

Claiming that Congress-led UPA government has changed the definition of development,he said “we speak of rights,we gave people the right to food.”
He accused BJP of stalling parliament during the passage of crucial bills like the Food Security Act.

“The opposition created impediments in Parliament over the passage of major bills including the Food Bill. Congress brought the Food Security Act because of which people won’t go hungry. And what did the opposition do? They try to halt this in Parliament.
“Whenever we do anything for the poor,the opposition questions us about the funding and accuse us of wasting money,” he said.
