Calling Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh a “non-serious” person,Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya said here today that the decision on the Batla House encounter is a befitting reply to Singh who had termed it “a fake encounter”.

“It is sad that the Congress General Secretary, who is a very senior and a respected leader and was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for 10 years talks in such a manner about such a sensitive matter. The decision is a straight slap on his party’s face,” Vijaywargiya said.

Referring to Singh’s remark that the RSS imparts training to its workers to prepare bombs,he asked why Digvijay Singh who was Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister for 10 long years did not take any action against the organisation during his tenure.

Dismissing as “baseless”,Congress MP Sandeep Dixit charge that the Madhya Pradesh Food Security Scheme is merely a copy of the Centre’s food programme,he said that he would like to remind Dixit that the state had framed and implemented this scheme way back in 2008.

He said that Dixit had also worked in Madhya Pradesh and he must be aware that at that time, the state had provided wheat to eligible people at Rs 3 per kg,which has now been lowered to Rs 1 per kg.

It is only after Madhya Pradesh implemented this scheme that a number of other states did the same,he said.
